Online Petition

Over one million people have signed an online petition on the Downing Street website to call for a scrapping of the proposed 'pay-as-you-drive' scheme.

Do you really think that Bluergh will listen to the people he was elected to serve? Did he listen to the millions of people that took to the street to protest about the war in Iraq?

Number 10 says that doing nothing would lead to a 25% increase in congestion "in less than a decade". How do they know? Did they just make that figure up?

Lets not forget this is the same Number 10 that spewed bogus facts and figures about weapons of mass destruction!

I have no doubt that pay as you drive will be implemented at the speed of light, with no regard for the wishes of the great unwashed who dare to sign an online petition.

Did you hear thatthe recent spate of letter bombings has been possibly blamed on a disgruntled motorist? That certainly narrows down the field for the police then.

Is that the same as the mini driver waiting for the speeding ticket - just dreaming of the possibility in fact.

Right, I am also just about fed up with this new blogger. Why do I have to type my username and password EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

"doing nothing would lead to a 25% increase in congestion in less than a decade" - As I see it, you can only drive one car at a time. So, the maximum possible congestion comes when everyone has a car. This gives us two possible solutions to the congestion problem. 1) Build enough roads so that there is room enough for everyone who has a car. 2) Limit the number of people allowed to own or drive a car, for example by banning the unemployed, or raising the mimimum age limit to 25.
- Simple!
