My Weekend

Yesterday I went to Sheplers to buy some boots, just like the ones in the picture (lucchese 2000). Got a really nice pair and they're really comfy - all I need now is some spurs fitted and i'll look like John Wayne!

Bought a pair of jeans too. I *hate* trying on clothes in a shop, so I thought 31" waist, 30" leg, that'll do nicely. Seems that waist measurements mean different things in different stores! When I got home I could barely squeeze myself into them, despite being easily able to fit into my other 31" pair. I'll have to take them back this week and get the next size.

I also listened to the Davinci Code on Audio book (Cheers Phil). I thought it was ok. I will probably go and see the film when it comes out. Seems to me that the whole Holy Grail thing and the subject in the book is something that can never be proved either way, so why all the hoo ha?! I probably missed the point entirely, but never mind.

Last night went out on Greenville Ave, which is in Dallas and is a kind of partying district, just up the road from Deep Ellum, the 'old' partying district, which has apparently gone down the nick a little in recent years, if the taxi driveer was to be believed. It was quite lively - lots of people out. We had a few beers in the bars down there then went for a Mexican - which was lovely. After that we went to watch a pretty rubbish band (they tried to cover 'Closer' by NIN, but their guitars didn't really quite capture the 'synthe sound'!)

Today I will be finishing off my washing and ironing, and probably watching the history channel! Life in the fast lane eh?

31"dont make me laugh!!!!!! tubby.
if you can get into a size 31" then im gonna buy size 34". you must be a typical man when it comes to measuring himself in inches(think about it).

Killer boots man!

Hey Sazza, thanks - Im really pleased with them - I've been wearing them while doing the ironing today!

Michelle - I agree. I just thought the book was ok, but I can see why its really popular. Some of the plot lines were so obvious - like trying to work out what the account number was..! I was shouting at the CD player! The film will probably be pretty good though.

i guessed the code straight away, isaac newton, orbs, had to be apple doh.and about the other thing
cant quite decide whether to keep it as a possible play or a short story, but it will be modified whatever. and as for the boots. did you sing YMCA as you did the ironing?

31"? Surely not.

The DaVinci code - I enjoyed it. Read it on holiday in a couple of days.

But truthful tales of Grail hunting? I think not. Did you know the guy who fingered Leonardo as holding the top spot at Opus Dei has admitted it was a wind up? Hilariously, if you examine the supposed historic document, some of the other encumbents are fairly well know too. A Mr M Mouse is there for sure.

But hey, someone who used to regularly walk into his wardrobe with the hope of one day meeting up with the doctor should by no means throw stones ;)

Evo - 31" yep, I was amazed too, but as I say, different sizes out here. I plan on looking up some of the research on the code on the net, Ive seen a couple of the documentries, but im sure theres even more stuff on the web!

Dr Who was cool - Tom Baker was the best, but I reckon the new series is pretty good too.

Ignores Phil :-p

Michelle, haven't read any of his other books, and don't think ill bother now! Also, he is being sued for nicknig the idea of some other academics i think...

I think Phil would be better advised to go for the Matt Lucas from Little Britain look than the "Bareback Mountain" look. If that is where he wants to go you umderstand. ;o)

Thats amazing Evo - you must know Phil? He does bare more than a passing resemblance to Matt Lucas :-)

I should add to my last comment, I feel able to say that since I am from Hull myself but have too much hair to come under my own blanket generalisation. :o)
